Murray Hill

Murray Hill is located South of 42nd Street, North of 34th street, and East of Fifth Avenue.  It is densely built up and very centrally located.  It is known for the great characteristics of being practical, convenient to most forms of public transportation, yet could be a bit noisy due to the traffic and congestion.   Professionals constitute a clear majority of demographics, but students, particularly from the School of Visual Arts, New York University and NYU Medical School as well as members of the faculty are also well represented. For former residents of Downtown in search of a friendlier pricing, Murray Hill has become the destination for affordable high rises.

Murray Hill property pricing is slightly cheaper than in fashionable nearby parts of Manhattan. However, prices for apartments here rose a great deal in early 2000s, as much as 500 percent in a decade. In the late 2000s, Murray Hill began to attract an influx of young college graduates, particularly from the Northeastern United States, leading to a "work-hard, play-hard" atmosphere.
